Thank you for clarifying (excuse the pun) the treble issue for me. I can appreciate what you mean regarding some tweeters sounding “compressed and lifeless.” I listened through a pair of JM Lab Be Utopias (can not remember the exact model – one up from the Diva maybe) as part of a high quality system. While very impressive in many ways, for me (others will differ) the system often failed to capture the spirit of the music; the highs were in attendance but insubstantial and inexpressive. These seem to me the ‘speaker embodiment of Blur’s Charmless Man.
