I'm not an expert on the finished product - David Cope may be able to interject here but from what I can see it seems that the Conqueror has hard wired connections where the Kit1 comes with 3 PCB's. Both are level 3 products which means they are "Class A single-ended directly heated no feedback triode amplifiers". To get to level 4 you need to have all higher quality parts (Black gates , tants paper in oil caps etc..) The kit1 is shipped with a combination of AudioNote paper in oil caps and Jensen signal caps where the Conqueror is all AudioNote Caps. The Conq. also seems to use a Group A output transformer while the Kit1 is using a higer end output transformer Trans 152 (group B).
The Kit1 with its flexibility towards upgrades could be ordered as a Level 4 product for around an extra 3-400US
