Dac kit 2.1B vs. 3.1

Hi,
I'm quite ready to pull trigger on either dac kit 2.1B or dac kit 3.1

The questions are;

- What are the sound differences between the two?
I've read somewhere that the 3.1 sounds more neutral than 2.1B, meaning less warm or something else? Also I've read that someone preferred the stock 2.1x over stock 3.1x?

- Audionotekits website says 2.1 valve output was designed by AN Andy Grove, but does not mention anything being designed by Andy on 3.1. Whereas this review ( http://www.soundstage.com/diwhy/diwhy.htm ) of Dac kit 2.1C (which is nowadays Dac kit 3.1?) says that pretty much everything on it is designed by Andy Grove?

- Audio Note has altered/improved the factory built 3.1 Balanced and it has different linestage valves etc. Was there something amiss with the Canadian/Kit 3.1 that needed addressing?

I'd just like to know if dac kit 2.1B or 3.1 is the right one for me for all AN system as I got 'try and learn'-lesson of all AN system synergy while trying Meishu + stock AN 0.1x Dac with my AN-E Spe HEs and would like to be sure I'd retain that while going for Level 2 or 3 dac with AN kits.
