In my opinion, absolutely!
I had a DAC Zero and I thought the kit 1.1 blew it away.
I'm also a fan of the 12AU7/ECC82 tube,and as long as you don't have a Siemens CCa or a Telefunken 6922,I think its a more "musical" tube than ECC88/6922.The 6922 sounds more "hifi-ish" I guess because its said to have more higher harmonic distortion.
Kit 1.1 is an easy build and a superb way to start learning about electronics and tweaking/modifying .
The new version of kit 1.1 I guess would sound even better and in my view probably will give the 2.1 a good fight ;-)
