Internal cabinet material for AN/E?

I'm having a pair of cabinets built by a woodworker. When I spoke with Peter he said I could use either more baltic birch ply or mdf or even chipboard for the internal tuning pieces. Can anyone tell me what the factory cabinets use, either Brian's or the ones from AN? Prof Brookes' pics make it look like mdf to me. I kinda favor mdf for some reason. Any help is appreciated.
