The Kit One uses a single 300B per channel and produces about 8 watts per channel. This configuration, or the same amount of power, but generated by parallel 2A3s, is the same as the vast majority of the Audio Note factory built amps. It is not only suitable for use with the Kit E, it is perfect. That's the kind of amp the speaker is intended to partner with. Will it work, sometimes even well, with other topologies? Sure, butThe Kit One delivers the goods as only an AN single ended TRIODE can, and the E lets all the music and magic through. I have never heard a Kit 2, but I can tell you that as good as the Kit 4, P1SE and P2SE amps are, they do NOT deliver the same beauty as the Kit One, Conqueror, etc do. Triodes are the only tubes inherently linear enough to allow for no negative feedback in the design. Everything else needs to be "kept in line" by feedback, and that, ime and imho, really detracts from the listening experience.
Keep your ears and your mind open.
