Hello fuba,Yesterday I opened up my Kit1 to upgrade the Jensen caps to AN Coppers. Since I had the unit open, I decided to make a couple updates.
Recently I had ordered some silver wire and decided to use it to conect the driver board to the 300B. This is usually a purple PTFE wire.
Since I did both mods at the same time, I can't tell you which did what. Also it may be good to give the new amp some use before drawing conclusions.
However, the sound minutes later was noticeably clearer, detailed, but also relaxed. It seems like the amp is not even trying. Tonality is a bit cooler. (not sure I like this, but it might change with some use).
