Ah I remember the build...it was a lot of fun. That was back when I couldn't get through a soldering session without losing some skin. You'll love the Kit 2, Bob. It responds well to tube swapping, has lots of power and doesn't mind a tweak or two.I also use DACT, mine's a stereo unit. It looks like you've got DH Labs silver on your input - nice choice. I have the AN-V cable, and solid core silver from the driver board to the 6550s.
If I can make some suggestions to keep in mind down the road:
- Mundorf Supreme Silver/Oil are marvellous (0.22 on the driver board)
- Original Tung Sol 6550s are very nice, but much cheaper Penta Labs / Shuguang GEKT88s are fantastic too.
- Sylvania Chrome Top 6SN7s
- Sylvania 12AX7WAsOnce you're up and running I hope you'll share your tweaks and impressions.
