of the TX to the speaker itself. As far as power output goes, from what I know there is no difference between max output on either tap. Difference is in the tonal balance created by mismatched impedances.Technically speaking, if the impedance of the speaker were higher than the tap chosen (say the tap is 8 Ohms but the speaker 16) then the amp would put more of it's output into the speaker. In other words, there would be less loss (heat) inside the amp itself, and instead more "power" would go to the speaker.
Reason I say to expect good results is specifically that the impedance of the speaker***again, from memory!***is pretty flat. Therefore, there's nothing particularly difficult for the amp to overcome. So, no weird tonality aberrations.
Anyone want to jump in and either correct/confirm/elaborate?
