Profound life changes years ago left my large LP collection behind. I find myself replacing what I had more than scoping new ground. I had a very good solid state system back then with what was probably a better analogue front end.
But I do hear old favorites for the first time these days with the Audio Note Kit 1 and Altec/Jbl system:
Laura Nyro New York Tendaberry, Verdi Requiem Bernstein NYPO, The Bigg's Bach Book and, go easy on me, Lionel Ritchie I Can't Slow Down (I know it's un-hip but I just got up to put it on), everything Joni Mitchell recorded but especially Blue and Miles Of Aisles.
Directions I hadn't gone before are best represented by Ellington Meets Basie, Basie's Montreux '77 and Alison Krause/Union Station So Long and New Favorite.
There are others but these get the most play and evoke some emotion beyond just making "joyful noises".
