Preamp Kit 1

Looking for some ideas. I am using a AN preamp Kit 1 into an AN P1SE (silver) and Snell e II's. The turnabble I am is using is a TT-2 with arm II and IQIII cartridge. I just down graded to the Preamp 1 Kit from the AN M2B. In short the when I play records the "sparkle" is gone. Highs now seemed a bit recessed with a duller leading edge. I also want to add that I just installed an ANV interconnect between the pre and the amp. The Pre Kit 1 has all the upgraded, silver wiring etc. I really did not expect this dramatic of a drop off in phono section performance. Any ideas how to get this set-up singing?
