I have looked at your particular model on the internet. I didn't realise that it was a combination CD/Tuner/Pre-amp/Power amp.It looks as if you have two options.
1. Use the tape out.
2. Use the Pre out and set it to about 80%.I would go for the tape out as this is probably the most unpolluted signal.
I wouldn't alter the kit2, especially to start with.
You can always experiment further at a later time but I think you will be happy from the start. Leaving it as-is will also allow you to plan upgrades; otherwise you will be tied to an unusual configuration for ever more.
