Oops, posted on General Asylum--should have been here...I've tried several tubes and each sparks on turn on. Some noise through the speakers on turn on but then settled and otherwise worked fine. A NOS Sylvania didn't spark for months, but recently started doing it, too. Turned it on yesterday and the tube flashed and the amp didn't power up. Blew fuse, so I replaced it and tried again. This time the tube flashed a bit less brightly and then glowed blue internally (not like the halo at night on power tubes) and so I shut it off but not before noticing that no other tubes had powered up. Checked it and had blown fuse again.
What's up? What should I do? Haven't opened her up yet, but since it's always been doing the sparking thing (1+ year since built) I am thinking could be related to hardwiring driver board I recently completed.Thoughts are appreciated.
Doug
