They are not there any more. I changed the whole room. Peter recommends putting them in corners, but I don't have that option. I now have them on the long wall, about 5' from the corners.And yes, I am verry happy with where they were, and are.
Also, that bent corner doesn't bother me at all. You can't even see it unless you look at the back left corner. I honestly forgot it was there!
