Hello!I am having problems with my Audio Note P2SE power amplifier (using 5881 and 6SL7 tubes). About three months ago, it stopped working. I noticed that the fuse was blown, purchased new fuses, and it keeps on blowing fuses within two or three seconds of turning on the amplifier. When I do turn it on (without a load - is this also bad?), for the two seconds that it does work, there is a hum emanating from one of the transformers in the amplifier (do not know which one).
Could any of you help me with what could be the possible problem? Transformer blown? Tube blown? other?
I have only just moved to Budapest, Hungary, and unfortunately the Audio Note dealer is clear across town. Plus, his technician is in Miskolc (about a two hour drive away) so it would take some time before the amp will be fixed. Would love to get some of your views as to what the problem could be.
Have been missing my P2SE terribly since it has blown. This is a fantastic performer - transients and slight shades in the music coming through beautifully. It mates very well to my Audio Note AZthree speakers, but am planning to upgrade to AN/E speakers as my next upgrade. The AN/E's which I once demoed at an Audio Note dealer were by far the best speakers I have ever heard. I hope that once I buy the AN/E's, It will be the last upgrade I ever make.
Please note that I am posting this same topic in the Tubes forum as well - appologies in advance for the double posting, but I figured a different crowd hangs out on the two forums!
