If you're still shopping for a sub, look for a model which accepts "speaker level" input. This means you just connect it to the speaker binding post at the back of your amplifier. Once you adjust balance in relation to your main left/right speakers, the sub is controlled by the volume pot in the amp. Get a model with adjustable frequency cut-off, and a volume potentiometer. Size and power will depend on : your main speakers, the room, and the kind of music you mostly play. Generally, a ten incher, with a 100-150watt amp should do very well. Hope this helps.
