I have the DAC 1.1 and I get the clicking on swith-on, then thats it after that. I am using an AN zero transport. I think the clicking is a harmless relay check/safety feature on the digital PCB, it mentions it in the manual.

If you are worried about it, try sending Brian an email. He is really helpful, should sort you out no problem.
