BAT VK-30 / SACD 1000 compatibility questions

I was hoping that either Victor or an owner of a VK-30 could help me out here.

I have an acquaintance that is picking up a VK-30 today and wants to use it with his Philips SACD 1000 unit. I had instructed him to set the filters on the SACD 1000 to "wide-bandwidth" mode, which is filter setting 3 aka the "50 KHz" position. According to the manual, this may allow bursts of high frequency noise to be passed down the chain into the preamp, etc.. I was wondering if this would harm the VK-30 or increase the potential for instability of the circuit in any way ? I don't want to be responsible for telling this person how to set up their gear and then having it "smoke", etc... Anybody running a wide bandwidth SACD player into a VK-30 with ideas / experience in this area ? Sean
