I agree completely that this is a quality product. I use it extensively, after some minor mods: replaced tubes with Telefunken and had the factory disconnect the volume pot (don't need longer signal path and not using the EAR as a preamp!).For the price (esp. used), this is a great phono stage and is the one I use most often. I also own a Blue Circle BC-23 (see my review) which also has considerable sonic and feature strengths (including multiple DIP switch settings) that cannot be denied.
Some will want more "control" over their unit, particular users with low-output MC cartridges. I use a medium-output one, and the simple MM/MC switch is more than adequate for me.
