go for a chip amp. LM3875.
I have heard much pricier amp fall short and I wouldnt touch a cheap tube amp. the chip amp is very fast, transparent, detailed. a bit like class d but more musical, more grunt and weight in the midrange.
imo, not a lot of SS amp under 2k comes close.
