RE: A good vintage Audio Research Amp

The VT-100 series would be from the same time frame. I ran a MKII version for a couple of years until I heard VTL monoblocks. I replaced the ARC unit with a pair of MB-450s that I found to be a more musical match for my then SP9 MKIII. I continue to happily use them sixteen years later now with an SP20.

You might also consider a VTL ST150.
