No one NEEDS a reason. It is jut there.. to do. One can make up a reason.. But none should be needed.
The "ITCH" can only be scratched with NEW EQUIPMENT.
That is like 'Audiophile 101'.Added: on the other hand.. Ask what he wants to add in a new preamp.. That makes sense.
More clarity. better midrange, XLR, other features.. built in phono...
