Defined bass. The mids were nice. Also there is a guy that posted his Yaquin 845' mono block amps on YouTube. He is playing Rock and to do it well.
I was going to build some Mono block amps using the 845 tubes but just couldn't get past using 1kv power supply and if something went wrong and then there are other things to consider too safety wise. I still may revisted that DIY project down the road since I have all the parts except the output transformers but with 600-700 power supply instead of 1kv. That's just me.
I don't know how well they will do OB type of speakers in SET mode. Like the other post says, check out the Tube DIY forum. I wish I had more info for you to help you out with your question.
