Exactly - those NAD and especially the big 275BEE runs as hot as a tube amp. I foolishly did not take that into consideration when I originally planned on a cooler SS amp for the warm season.
I would like to keep the Conrad Johnson as the preamp. And I still plan on using my primary gear in the cooler months, eg less than 110 or so.
Sonically nothing is going to replace my VTA ST70 and Sherwood S-5000. But DANG - between the temps over 110 and the INTENSE sunshine, even the best AC isn't going to stop that feeling like you're sitting next to an open stove with those amps running. And again that NAD is no cooler than the tubes.
