Glad that I could be of some assistance. The alignment and VTA should be perfect with an RP8 and the Apheta cartridge, or else I'd suggest trying to lower the tonearm slightly to improve the bass. In your case it sounds like it may be a break-in issue, which with phono cartridges can take between 50 to 100 hours (that's ~150 to 300 sides!) so give it some time and I would expect the bass to improve.
