I was engaged in a lengthy email debate on the shortest possible cable ever devised by man to link a preamp-amp-Digital converter.

Eventually I suggested physically welding the units together back to back. Obviously it was not a welcomed suggestion.

Then after my morning coffee I got a thinking of the old fashion "receiver". remember them - one box - all matched - and the shortest possible interconnects!

Yes I know integrated amps with a DACs are available today. But it made me laugh how things have changed - but yet - stayed the same.

Thoughts of the day while being snowed in too long!
