If you are doing home theater as well the current Marantz HT separates are reasonably priced and a good value. If you didn't need latest tech features some of the previous A/V preamps are around new at great prices.

If you just do stereo I'd consider a Marantz integrated. Sorry for the problem with your unit but Marantz is generally very reliable. I'm still using one of their like 2nd gen Bl-ray players and an AV 8003 with no issues.
