I have found that preamps and speakers do the most to define the overall
system sound. Differences between tube and SS amps can be very noticeable,
Differences in comparably priced SS tends to be very incremental IMHO.
If you want a warm overall sound and want a SS amp go with a hybrid preamp or
tube preamp. YMMV....
