The unit on the right is a SET stereo power amp. The IFA-1. It uses Tung-sol 6384 power tubes. One per channel. The small tube is a Pope 6DJ8 or soon to be 6CG7. The power rectifier is an Emission Labs 274 mesh plate. The amp delivers 8 watts of pure class A power per channel. The unit on the left is the LP-27a pre-amp. It uses 27 or 56 radio tubes. They are similar to 6SN7 and 6SL7. In the picture are Philco 27's. The smaller tube is a Tung-sol 6BX7GT. The rectifier is a Philco 80. It has 12db of gain. I'm using Nola Contender's...true 90db 8 ohm load...driven to fairly high levels. The DAC is a piece of Schiit Gungnir. Nice DAC!
Got to say...system is really sounding sweet. Very resolving. Amazingly, these OLD tubes are totally quite and not microphonic at all. Great extension top to bottom. Even just streaming TIDAL. Just a lot of fun and easy to use...compared to my main rig.
