Until you do make a decision to sell why bother navel gazing about something which may or may not be an issue?
Lastly, without a pic it is hard to know the aesthetic defect of the amp, but irrespective, I doubt the cost and bother of tarting up a 19 year old amp will be recovered in the sale.
In other words, just leave it as it is.
