My 107dB Duo Omegas actually fare much better with 3.5wpc 2A3 monos than they did with 8wpc 300B monos (particularly in the bass - despite the powered subs, if one connects the amps using speaker level inputs rather than the line-level inputs, the external amps' bass character comes shining through, and the 300B seemed flabby compared to the 2A3).
However, I get far better results with 18wpc monos - the Lamm ML2 series. So, despite the seeming need for only a few watts of power, my experience reflects those of other posters in this thread, that a little extra juice can be a good thing indeed.
