It all depends on what your goal is. You said they heat up and you have two: do you bi-amp or are the amps bridged? (if they are bridgable)
What load are you presenting to the amp? 2/4/8/16 ohms or something different. Its not abnormal for a SS amp to get warm after a while.
They are about 25 years old and if you love them get them upgraded, otherwise get something new.
