My experience is that KT88s are smoothest sounding wired as triodes, putting out 10-12W. Otherwise, they sound to full-bodied (round) to me. Why not try a KT66 tube for a change? The Tung-Sol's only cost about $140/quad,although i prefer the New Genelex Gold Lions.
120W is more than enough to drive those speakers well.
