Can a Conrad Johnson PV14L be upgraded?

And is it worth the effort/cost?

I have a soft place in my heart for the PV14L -- it was my first entry into high end equipment, along with an MV60 amp. I've moved on to a Premier 17 in my main system, but I still use the PV14 in a secondary system.

While I love the midrange of this preamp, it is rolled off somewhat at the extremes. I see that Conrad Johnson offers capacitor upgrades for this unit to their proprietary teflon caps. Has anyone tried this and can report on the results?

Are other improvements possible?
