I am listening to the ARC now. My dealer(Ultrafidelis) graciously let me bring it home. I know that it has new tubes and will break in,but here is my initial impression. The most noticeable difference is with electric guitar. Stevie Ray Vaughn's Riviera Paradise is so rich and lush. Vocals are also very real sounding. But, the difference is more subtle than I would have guessed. The bass is definitely not as well defined as with the McIntosh pre-amp. I will probably buy it because of the lush guitar tones. The McIntosh is prettier. I have more listening to do before I decide. At least I know I can get my money's worth from my McIntosh C32.
