Is practicing cheating? The results are the same. And isn't that how we learn, practicing? Sounds like it worked for Carver. He must have found how to revoice one amp to sound like another. I suspect how ever that while he could make a solid state amp sound like another solid stae amp or even a tube amp that he couldn't make a tube amp sound like most solid state amps. There's no way to get the low output impedance from a tube amp needed to simulate a solid state one.
