And then? If that was the end of I'd never deal with the company again!
The cool thing is you probably have more clout than you think. I just looked on their site and see that the unit has a 'CE' mark on the back. Excellent! These sorts of problems are easy to fix and they don't have a choice if they are exporting the product to Europe as CE explicitly does not allow state changes from ESD.
Sooo to put it bluntly if they don't fix your problem you can fix their wagon. Just because you don't live on Europe doesn't mean that you can't communicate with their regulators...
Knowing that your product has a problem and just shrugging their shoulders sucks. Go get 'em tiger...
