I just today received a new one--$499 delivered thru Amazon! It appears very well built, but I haven't heard it yet...it's just warming now.
The main-two channels use some fancy switching volume control. The unit has 2 pairs of stereo inputs on RCAs plus a separate one using balanced inputs...plus two sets of 8-channel inputs.
If it sounds as good as Stone wrote, it'll be a fine stereo preamp with remote control.
Right now my system based on a c-j MET1 6-channel tubed preamp is sounding so good I'm not TOUCHING it, but eventually I'll install the '18.
