If your tastes go to classical, as do mine, then stick with a tube option. Nothing makes classical music come alive like a tube stereo.Start posting over at the tube forum. I think you narrowed it down to tubes. Now you have to narrow it down to
New vs. old
Integrated vs. amp with passive
output tubes eg, SET vs EL84 or EL34
etc....My setup is a vintage Sherwood S-5000 that was rebuilt and upgraded by Mike Samra. For a remote volume control I use a Bent audio IR module in line with my source. It works very well. and is also an option if you just go with an amp. If you want to know how to make one just email.
