I got my Cronus about a year ago. I've successfully avoided changing tubes as I'm very happy with the sound as is. I just didn't want to do as I've done with every other piece of tubed gear I've owned - swap out tube after tube.
Well, so much for that bit of resolve. I read this thread, found a Mullard ECC82 in my spare tubes box and installed it in the center position. There's definitely a difference. Seems as though there's a better sense of presence and tone. I don't know. Maybe it's just different, not better. We'll see. That' s it though. No more tube rolling. I think.
