Out of the 3 amps you mentioned my choice would be the Arcam, so no the 2 you are looking at would not be an upgrade IMO but would give you a different type of sound. Adding a reasonable priced DAC would probably be the most cost effective. You'll have to up your budget to get an integrated with DAC where the amp will provide a whorth while improvement over your Arcam.
Another thought would be get a DAC with the variable output now being marketed as DAC/preamp, although lacks many features found in an actual preamp. However, if no analog sources one of these DAC's with a power amp could give you the upgrade you are looking for. If on a budget you could buy the DAC to use with the Arcam then as funds are available buy the power amp. The Marantz power amps are a good value and price, as well the Rotel digital power amps.
