Budget?

You didn't list what you actual upper price limit is.

I will name one amp that will tax your abilities to find it but if you do they are pretty reasonably priced (around $1000 used). It is far better than anything you have mentioned (I had a Nak PA5, BTW, nothing special).

So, what is this amp?? It is the Sphinx Project 14. This was an amp made in Holland that is a hybrid. It has a separate power supply for the tube input/driver section and the output section is dual mono with two large toroidal transformers. The sound is very very good, tone, resolution and plenty of power (more than 180 watts into 8 ohms and almost double into 4 ohms). On top of that it runs about 20 watts Class A. It was about $8K new in the late 90s.

Another if you can stretch is the Conrad Johnson Evolution 2000. This beast also sounds very good, is just about as hard to find and will cost a bit more. I mention it even though I suspect your budget is too low for it.
