I will be auditioning the NC1200 amps for the second time.
The first time, I compared them directly in my system with some high power Class A monoblocks and the Ncores did quite well, being better in some areas (bass) somewhat equal in the midrange but not quite as refined in the treble (although close). At the time, I had already planned to sell the Class A amps, mostly for ergonomic reasons, and had already commissioned another amp purchase.
While the new amp sounds very good in my system, I was impressed enough with the Ncores that I want to try them one more time, compare them with my current amp, and then decide which I like better, based primarily on sound quality and ease of use. The cost is similar between my current amp and the NC1200s but the Class A monoblocks were twice as expensive as the NC1200s.
