Nope, I switched brands of cables that cured the issue, I still use the other cables in another system, they are fine. I've never had any issue with those cables, which are mid line Siltech, in any other system except that one preamp. It was just some ground issue between that type of cable and the way the preamp was grounded. The preamp had one of those ground lift switches, the noise continued in either position but I have to wonder if that had something to do with it since that's the only preamp I ever used with that feature.
