The tiny kitchen was attached to a corner of the 15'x15' living room. There was no dining room, so we had to put a kitchen table into the living room, further squeezing out any room for hi-fi.
I learned the hard way, that only minimonitors and small floorstanders have any chance of succeeding in this acoustical chamber of horrors.
I made the grave mistake of getting Thiels, which need space to breathe, and require you to listen from a distance. Obviously, in a small room, that isn't mathematically possible.
As the population rises, and people cram into smaller and smaller quarters, my writings about dinky rooms has become more germane. Bu that wasn't the case 20 years ago, when high-end audio exponentially grew, and reviewers lived in (or had access to) large homes.
