In the mid 70's a friend brought over his new Yamaha integrated for me to audition. He was putting together a system and had yet to receive his speakers. Hence he gave me a shot at the Yamaha for a couple of weeks. Yamaha was certainly new to me as an audio company, but there were tons of Yamaha motorcycles around. At the time, I had an HK receiver and previously had receivers from Pioneer and Akai. An integrated was a new ball game for me, but I remember really liking the way the Yamaha looked with its excellent fit/finish and solid feel. What I wasn't prepared for was the way it sonically blew away the typical receiver of that time period. It was truly a sad day when he came to pick it up. Can't remember the model, but I remember it being rated at 45 watts per channel.
