The intention (if I were to do class D) would be leaving it on 24/7 anyway; D-wife gets thrown for a loop with all the power switches to turn on and off, and in what order! This could be a bonus for her (and eventually, a sonic one for me!) The power to cost ratio is VERY tempting here. Current front runner is an offering from Class D Audio. Yes, I'm being as budget conscious as possible...

I'm really not sure about doing tubes again. Old amp was an ARC D76A, which D-wife and loved. Unfortunately, it was requiring more and more time on the bench than I was willing to give. I've heard some freakin' incredible sounding glass that would do the source/speakers justice, but oh, the cost of such beasts (VTL, ARC, etc...)!!! I've considered (briefly) even going OTL, but again the power to cost ratio starts to get WAY out of whack.
