I have had 4 AI preamps. Beware of upscale for tubes. I have always gotten better tubes from TubeWorld. I prefer Amperex and Siemens NOS tubes in Audible Illusions Preamps. I probably have 15 to 20 various sets of 6922 (and variant) tubes. Nothing is "cleaner" than expensive NOS Telefunkens. They just don't have the "liquidity" or the harmonics that the Siemens and Amperex display. For tube "lushness" on vocals - expensive NOS Mullards. No matter what the hype is the various sellers state such as "This is the S___ for NOS Telefunken;" if they are asking $250.00 and the great Telefunkens usually go for much more - well - beware.
