I have a 15 amp brick wall for my video system. I can't claim that it has done a good job in terms of protecting, since I don't really know if its been needed. It does also filter out some high frequency scrap from the line. I can say it has had no negative effects on the system. If anything the sound may be a tad better.
I slowly have a P.S. Audio power regenerator for my music system. It too should protect the system, but again, I have no proof it's been needed. Huge improvement in sound though.
