If you can plug your turntable into any 'line in' jacks of your preamp. Yes. Yes you can. But it will sound horrible. You need some kind of phono preamp to provide the RIAA equalization phonograph records require, as well as provide enough gain for the tiny signal most phonograph cartridges put out. That is why vintage, (and modern) preamps have a dedicated 'phono' input to plug your turntable into. It has the required circuity to deal with a phonograph.
Now, if you have an outboard phono preamp, say like a Hagerman Bugle for instance, then you would plug your turntable into that, and then plug that into a 'line in' of your preamp.
